• Wildwood Commissioners Vote To Ban Saggy Pants On Boardwalk

Wildwood City Commissioners on Wednesday passed a law banning overly saggy pants on the boardwalk, prompted by numerous complaints from longtime visitors about having to see people’s rear ends hanging out in public.

Subsequent violations of the law, which takes effect July 2, could result in fines as high as $200 and 40 hours of community service.

Civil libertarians say the law is unconstitutional and predict it will be overturned if challenged in court.

But Mayor Ernest Troiano Jr. said the issue is simple.

“This is just adding a little bit of decency to our town,” he said. “It’s amazing — and this is a pun — how far decency has fallen through the cracks.”

The law passed unanimously, and no one spoke against it. Several residents strongly supported the law.

“It’s long overdue,” said Mary Erceg. “People who choose to dress like that offend any person. There has to be some common standard of decency. It offends all of us.”

“We need it,” added resident Dennis Flynn. “This is our city. You have to respect it.”

The trend, known popularly as sagging, originated in the U.S. prison system, where inmates are not allowed to wear belts. It was popularized by hip-hop artists and embraced by youths.

Authorities in suburbs of New Orleans, Chicago, Atlanta, Detroit, Miami and Jacksonville, Fla., are among those who have passed laws banning overly droopy pants.

Bathing suits are already prohibited on the Wildwood boardwalk, unless covered up by other clothing.

City Commissioner Pete Byron said the city is not trying to be the fashion police.

“There’s a line that gets crossed between being a fashion statement and being obnoxious,” he said. “Families can feel threatened.”

The American Civil Liberties Union of New Jersey has declined to take a position on the law, but other ACLU chapters around the country have said such laws are unconstitutional.

Troiano said he hopes no one will have to be cited by police for violating the ordinance. Rather, he said, a well-placed word from an officer should suffice to persuade boardwalk patrons with overly low-slung jeans to hike them up.

Police Chief Steven Long said his officers will respond appropriately when they see violations.

“The ultimate goal is compliance,” he said. “We’re just trying to make the city a better place to visit.”

The mayor said the city isn’t going to be out “hunting these kids down.”

“We’re not going to be out there with a tape measure,” he said. “But we know what’s right and not right. If we don’t make an attempt to clean our town up, who’s going to?”

  • Shocking!! 40 Year Old Mother Who Is Sleeping With Her Son Is Now Pregnant For Him And Wants To Marry Him!!

A mother and her son have done the unthinkable – they have fallen in love with one another. And now they want to marry since the mom is six months pregnant and expecting her son’s first child.

Betty Mbereko (40), who was widowed 12 years ago, has been cohabiting with her first child, Farai Mbereko (23). She confirms that she is six months pregnant and that she has decided it is better to “marry” her son because she does not want to marry her late husband’s young brothers, whom she says are coveting her.

Betty stunned a village court last week when she said the affair with her son had begun three years earlier. She said after spending a lot of money sending Farai to school following the death of her husband, she felt she had a right to his money and no other woman was entitled to it.

“Look, I strove alone to send my son to school and no one helped me. Now you see that my son is working and you accuse me of doing something wrong. “Let me enjoy the products of my sweat,” she told the village court.

Farai said he was more than prepared to marry his mother and would pay off the ilobola balance his father had left unpaid to his grandparents. “I know my father died before he finished paying the bride price and I am prepared to pay it off,” he said.

“It is better to publicise what is happening because people should know that I am the one who made my mother pregnant. Otherwise they will accuse her of promiscuity.”

But local headman Nathan Muputirwa says: “We cannot allow this to happen in our village, mashura chaiwo aya, (This is a bad omen indeed).

In the past they would have to be killed but today we cannot do it because we are afraid of the police.” He warned them to break off their marriage or leave his village.

They chose the latter and have left the village for an unknown destination.

  • Study Says Lil Wayne Has The Dumbest Fans

    Lil Wayne

Did you know that most Lil Wayne fans are dumb? It’s true, according to a recent study.

According to Yahoo, data for a study gathered on Facebook concluded that Lil Wayne boasted the lowest SAT scores than any other artist.

The study’s author found kids from different colleges across the US, and compared their favorite music to the average SAT scores from those schools. Weezy fans averaged an SAT score of 876, giving his fans the title of “dumbest fans,” while fans bands like Radiohead, Counting Crows and singer Sufjan Stevens ranked in the 1200s.

The smartest were fans of Beethoven, who averaged the highest SAT scores at 1376. A perfect SAT score is 1600.

Another interesting note was that many people who are into classical music and play classical instruments love Jay Z and Eminem because their songs have unique rhythms and flows that come off as fresh and fun to those who study classical.

  • Lack of sleep may harm men’s sperm

Not getting enough sleep may harm men’s sperm, a new study from Denmark says.

Men who slept poorly had lower sperm counts and fewer sperm that had formed correctly, compared with men who slept better.

“Given the facts that approximately 20 percent of all young men may have reduced semen quality, and that sleep disturbances are common and increasing in industrialized countries, the results of this study may have important public health implications,” the researchers wrote in their article.

Future studies should look at whether interventions aimed at improving sleep might also improve semen quality, they said.

The researchers used data from 953 young men who were mostly in their late teens and early 20s. They asked the men how well they had slept in the previous four weeks, conducted blood tests to measure their hormone levels and analyzed their semen.

The researchers found that 15 percent of the men said they had found it difficult to fall asleep, and 13 percent of the men reported sleeping restlessly.

In general, the worse that men slept, the poorer the quality of their semen was. For instance, the men who had slept the poorest had a 25 percent reduction in sperm count, and had 1.6 percent fewer sperm that were morphologically normal, compared with men who reported low levels of sleep disturbances. The researchers accounted for factors that could affect the results, such asmen’s alcohol consumption, smoking and age.

There were no differences in hormone levels across the groups, the researchers said.

The study found an association, and does not prove that there is a cause-and-effect relationship between sleep quality and sperm counts.

However, there are plausible ways to explain the link, the researchers said. It may be that sleep disturbances alter nighttime testosterone rhythms, without affecting overall testosterone levels, the researchers said. However, lifestyle factors not accounted for in the study could explain both the poor sleep and lowered semen quality, they noted.

  • Only In Florida: Suspect, 37, Stabbed Boyfriend After He “Farted In Her Face”

A Florida woman explained to cops that she stabbed her boyfriend after he purposefully passed gas in her general direction.

Deborah Ann Burns, 37, told police that she was watching TV Tuesday night in the Immokalee home she shares with Willie Butler, her boyfriend of six years. Burns advised that, at one point, “Willie walked by her and farted in her face.”

Burns then “confronted him about the fart and Willie became agitated, telling her to shut up” according to a Collier County Sheriff’s Office report.

During the ensuing confrontation, Burns allegedly grabbed an eight-inch kitchen knife and threw it at the 53-year-old Butler, striking him in the stomach. Butler, who suffered a minor laceration, was treated at the scene by EMS personnel.

Pictured in the above mug shot, Burns was arrested for aggravated battery with a deadly weapon. She was booked into the county jail, where she is being held in lieu of $50,000 bond on the felony count. Burns, a convicted felon, previously spent 21 months in state prison for aggravated assault with a weapon and battery on a law enforcement officer.deborahannburns
